The next club meeting will be held after the Parson Russell and Russell Terriers show at the Silver Bay Kennel Club show in Del Mar, California at Del Mar Fairgrounds on February 21, 2015. Please feel free to join us at the ring after we show and we will find a place to meet. Bring a chair!
OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB:
(a)To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Parson Russell Terriers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection; (b)To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Parson Russell Terriers shall be judged; (c)To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at: (d)To conduct the following sanctioned events under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club:
(e) To encourage honesty in breeders' dealings with the public, including the taking of deposits, the selling of puppies and adults, and the fulfilling of warranty obligations. The existence of unsatisfied judgments related to such dealings with the public will preclude membership in the Club.
To become a member of the Club, you must be in good standing with the American Kennel Club (AKC), you cannot be a convicted felon, and you cannot have any outstanding judgments against you for unpaid debts, including those that are non-dog-related.
Two types of voting membership are open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are located in the defined location of the club, who are in good standing with the AKC, and who subscribe to the purposes of this Club: Single Memberships are $25/year and Family Memberships are $35/year (for two voting members at the same address).
Two types of non-voting membership are open to all persons, regardless of where they are located, who are in good standing with the AKC, and who subscribe to the purposes of the Club: Associate Members and Junior Members, both of which are $15/year.
For a limited time, dues will be half price ($12.50, $17.50, and $7.50, respectively) if paid by March 1, 2015.
Each applicant for membership must apply on a form approved by the Board of Directors and, which provides that the applicant agrees to abide by the constitution and bylaws of the PCPRTC and the rules of The AKC. The application must include the name, address, and occupation of the applicant and must include the endorsement of two members in good standing. A check for the dues must accompany the application, but it will not be deposited until the member is voted in and, if the applicant is not voted in, the check will be shredded.
All applications are to be filed with the Secretary and each application is to be read at the first meeting of the club following its receipt. At the next club meeting with a quorum present, the application will be voted upon and affirmative votes of 2/3 of the members present and voting by secret ballot at that meeting is required to elect the applicant.
